What is the I-41 Mainline Project?
The project will involve expanding 23 miles of I-41 mainline to six travel lanes, building auxiliary lanes along I-41 between closely spaced interchanges, and constructing collector-distributor roads between Ballard Road and WIS 441.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) plans to redesign the WIS 15 interchange into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) to handle greater traffic volumes and enhance safety. The project will also include provisions for bicycles and pedestrians, along with designated crash investigation locations.
Monday, February 3rd, the WIS 15 bridge over I-41 will be closed until late Fall 2025. You will still be able to turn right onto WIS 15 when going southbound on I-41. If headed northbound, you will be detoured down Wisconsin Avenue to CB.
