Heather Thorn

Heather is the Practice Manager at Great Lakes Equine in Hortonville. Her dedication to client care is unmatched and she cannot wait to welcome you to our clinic.

Meet Heather

Heather has been with Great Lakes Equine since 2006. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.

Heather has a fondness for donkeys and cats (great combination). Her love for donkeys developed when she worked in Aubrey, Texas at Jack Brainard’s ranch (Diamond B), they had a donkey named Bubbles that was a free-range donkey. Bubbles helped with all the tasks at the ranch, even helping her favorite horse escape from his stall. Heather does not own a donkey, but she does have a cat named Printz. Printz thinks that she is a force to be reckoned with, but she is just a scaredy cat. In Heather’s free time, she enjoys traveling and trout fishing with her husband, working out, and spending time with their two grandchildren.
